Cord Blood Stem Cells Information

Have you thought about donating the cord blood after your baby was born?

My brother in law passed away this past week. He was a kidney transplant recipient. I am currently 19 weeks pregnant and I have never stopped to think about donating the cord blood, that is, until his death and my sisters desire to have any donations go to the "Gift of Life." Do you think it is a good idea?

  1. I donated my cord blood twice, it was free and i felt good that i could help someone
  2. Yes! DO IT! It could end up saving someones life. Alternately, what the hell are you going to do with it? Seems like a no brainer to me.
  3. I think its a wonderful idea... that is as long as you dont plan to store it for your own family.... why not if it can save another life or even prolong another life.. i say go for it! So sorry to hear about your loss.... :(
  4. Donating cord blood is a wonderful thing, but storing it isn't usually helpful unless you or someone in your family has a disease or illness that could be benefitted from th ecord blood. Also chances are that you or the person in need may not even be compatable with the cord blood. I plan on donating my cord blood
  5. I wanted to. I told them when I went to the hospital, but they said that I had to sign up for it earlier. I thought it was kinda weird since it was a donation but whatever. So yes, I think that it is WONDERFUL and make sure you sign up to donate BEFORE hand!
  6. i will donating mine! Lorenzo will be happy to know that when hes older,, he may have helped save someone life when he was born
  7. Saving the life of a loved one is priceless! But! Seeing how Homeland Security sticks its nose into so many hospital visits (like my verichip issue) ................ I'm not trying to spook anyone! It's just that the Central Bank Bloodline is diabolical! Handing the Rockefellers any bit of DNA, i feel, lets them build a market of manipulation on anyone! But ultimately, blood is thicker than water!
