What chemicals are used to coax stem cells to become a certain kind of cell?

I need to know specifics about the chemicals and there compostion that are used to coax stem cells into the cell of choice. Thank you

1. In vitro or in vivo? In vivo I think they would tend to emulate the cell type of the tissue where they find lodgment. In vitro they would repond to a broth containing extracts of various types from the tissue cells desired. I would test various parts of a centrifuged extract. As to further details, I know not. I am not a molecular biologist. Google "cytokines" also. Waiting for the M.B.....
