Cord Blood Stem Cells Information

Stem Cells?

Did you hear about the new technology that made skin cells act like any other cell? They are doing the same thing as stem cells but without killing fetuses, they can mimic any cells your body has lost. Pure magic. Sorry, i have no idea how this ended up in religion.. I was being figurative about the word "magic" and "fetuses" if you were too D.U.M. to figure it out...

  1. It's a very exciting development, for sure... but did you read that these cells bring with them an increased risk of cancer that the embryonic stem cells don't? That's the fly in the ointment.
  2. i have to think we are getting closer and closer to truly understanding what a body is capable of doing-who knows maybe in my lifetime we will have figured out how to cure any disease or injury by using our own body to cure itself-just my thoughts -smile and enjoy the day
  3. Fetuses? Stem cell research involves destroying 3-day old blastocyst that merely has about 20 cells!! I am just sad that such religious dogmas still should exist at this point of time. Several years are still lost and during the time, and many lives will be lost due to this delay. There was no "moral" question involved in this at all. No matter which normative ethics systems you adhere to, you most likely can come to the conclusion yourself that this is not a genuine moral issue. In addition to what I said, I would like to say that I am very happy about this news. Not because people have settled on this pseudo issue, but because the research can finally make some real leaps.
  4. In other words, good bye osteoporosis, arthritis, heart failure, parkinson's disease, etc.!
  5. Yes, it's quite revolutionary. The only current downside is that it's relatively difficult to get mass amounts of stem cells from skin cells, and the chemical that they use isn't that easy to make, either.
  6. No, it isn't magic, dear one, it's SCIENCE. It also proves that God has shown the way. God bless!
  7. Let's keep our fingers crossed; the skin cell theory is not fully factual; more tests has to be made before a confirmation could be made.
  8. interesting and scary!!
