Cord Blood Stem Cells Information

I am 18 weeks pregnant & very active! Is it ok for me to jump on a trampoline as long as I dont do flips?

I never have any pains afterwards. I am careful when I am on, but I get a good workout. I also ride on my 4-wheeler! I take care of myself. But I heard that the umbilical cord can wrap around a babies neck if you are too active. Is this true? and is it ok to jump?

  1. I don't recommend it, but talk to your doctor and see what she or he says.
  2. I think it is fine for u to do that and stay active i take child psychology classes and know that the fetus is protected by the amniotic sac. just dont do anything too dangerous and ask ur doctor and by the way congrats :)
  3. ooh.. you shouldn't be doing anything that bounces you too much... i mean they say jogging is okay if you were an avid jogger before but the movements you are describing are just generally not good... i would start switching to something like power walking just to be safe... it's not worth the risk.
  4. yeah its def true .... if your pregnant you need to calm down and take a break from your adventurous daily activities. Take the next five months off from wild atv rides and trampolines, instead go for a walk or do activities that dont strain your body or the babies body.
  5. Absolutely Not That is way to dangerous!!!!
  6. I would ask your doctor first, but definitely avoid the trampoline. It is the #1 highest injury rate exercise machine nowadays. A 4-wheel ATV or motorbike is unnecessary danger at this time. It's not just you that could get hurt... I wouldn't worry about the umbilical cord too much, but too much activity could take oxygen and energy away from the baby. Talk to the doc. They know best!
  7. These are questions best answered by your OB/Gynecologist rather than in a forum of amateurs like this. Exercise during pregnancy is OK but strenuous activity should be stepped down, especially as you get farther along. Talk to your doctor to get the RIGHT answer for your situation. Good Luck and congrats.
  8. I don't see a problem with it as long as you don't overdo it or fall! You go girl! Just be careful!
  9. Keep going! I am 35 weeks and I have continued to be active during all 3 of my pregnancies. It makes labor more tolerable if you are fit. Listen to your body, and remember that your ligaments are loosening up so be careful! The baby is safe inside you, you just need to be careful you don't injure yourself.
  10. Staying active is really good for you and the baby but jumping is not recommended not because of the baby being hurt but because of the risk of the placenta detaching from the unterine wall which is very dangerous.
