- I think it sounds like a great idea and i was going to use it for my 3rd child but then i read in a magazine that they dont know how long it will store for in the long run and decided against it but this was over 2 years ago so they may have a better idea of how long they can accually store it and it be good for. I just couldnt see putting out all that money for it and then 30 years from now it be unuseable. But i think for sibilings to use or for children who need it right away (before 10years old) its a great idea
- from what i've read on the subject, banking it in a private bank isn't worth the expense; but it IS a great idea to donate the cord blood. check with the local hospital to see if they can donate it if you're interested.
- I think it would be a great thing to do, but it is very expensive. I kinda think that since the cord blood is universal between all the members of the family, if one of my family members got sick I could have another baby to get the cord blood. It might not be the right thinking but I dont like to think that any of our kids or my husband will get sick. Good Luck
- I only looked into it a tiny bit, but it seemed to me that it wasn't worth the expense, and I heard somewhere that they hadn't worked out how well it would store long-term anyway. Plus I don't think there's much that can be done with it, outside of certian diseases that don't run in my family.
