- If it's just bleeding a little, just leave it alone and let it stop on its own. If it's bleeding a lot, call the doctor.
- My daughter lost her cord at about 5 days. It continued to bleed a little bit for a couple of weeks. As long as it is only a little bit and it is drying it should be fine. Make sure when you bath your baby you clean the area and dry it properly. But give it a couple of weeks and she will have a beautiful clear little belly button. Also, as long as it is not red around the belly button - this could be sign of infection and you will need to see the doctor
- If it's bleeding a lot, wipe it with some alcohol and call your pediatrician. If only a little, just use the alcohol to prevent infection and it should stop.
- it is ok if it is only a little a bit but a lot or if it has a bad smell GO to the doctor and my baby had a little bleeding for a few days here and there until it fell off so it's normal but to help it heal better use alchool wipes or cotton pads and squeeze into the umbilical area it will fall off sooner but after it does still clean it the same way for about a week oh and good luck
- hello Please refer it to a doctor immediately. For my daughter's ked, they had put alip like device and also prescribed an ointment. the bleeding will stop in about 3 weeks time and the wound also will heal. Do not worry. ensure that you do not put any plaster on your own. check with a midwife in the local maternity hospital for advise . they will help you
- My daughters did the same thing. I was told to just leave it alone. The only time you should worry about it is if it is bleeding a lot, has pus coming from where it is connected to the skin and/or smells really bad. That could indicate an infection. Other than that, just try to keep it as clean and dry as you can. If you can, roll the diaper down so that it isn't covering the cord area, or get the diapers that have the umbilical area cut out. Good luck!
