Cord Blood Stem Cells Information

My baby is 19 days old. His umbilical cord stump is bleeding slightly for the last 3 days.?

The doctor has suggested that we take a Vit. K injection for him. Is this bleeding normal? Should we take the injection? I want to avoid all medication for such a little baby. The bleeding is very little, by the time we see it, its just dried blood on the navel. The stump fell off on the 7th day after birth.

4. yeah i think it's normal. just make sure when you change him, the diaper is below the stump, so it doesnt irritate him even more. clothe him loosely and try to keep the area as dry as possible. that should do it.
