- Call a vet. You must act as a parent now- do the right thing and stop screwing around on the internet. And yes, she may bleed to death. Humph.....BYBs..... Thanks for the thumbs-down. Why is calling a vet bad advice??
- call the vet immediately. Yes, puppy could bleed to death. Direct pressure may help-- on the way the animal emergency clinic. Go ASAP. This is an emergency
- Get some dental floss and tie the cord off 2 inches from the puppy's body. Please get the litter and mother check out by a vet in the morning.
- GO TO THE EMERGENCY VET!!! Don't bother with people on here dear Best of wishes!
- you need to call your vet immediately, this puppy could die and if it does its your fault for neglecting your animals needs which is punishable by jail time thanks for thumbs down for telling a back yard breeder they can go to jail for neglecting animals, if you dont know what you should do in these situations you shouldnt be breeding dogs without vet assistance
- VET NOW 5 hours ago would've been good, since it probably happened during birthing. One thing that has astounded me about YA is the number of people who will ask the same bunch of strangers that told them not to breed for advice about birthing. Yes we know what can happen and what to do - that's why we tell you not to breed! ~~ Wow - the thumbs down fairy visited lots of people here!
- You pinch it with your fingers tightly right when she is born to help it clot. If you can get some dental floss tied around the stump, you might be able to stop it. If that doesn't work, or if it is too short to tie, then you will have to see an emergency vet for a suture for it. Because it is 5 hours old, this is serious. Has it been bleeding all this time? If so, she may die. Sometimes Mama dogs just refuse to leave the cords alone, so they restart the bleeding themselves. If that is what happened you just pinch it and tie it if you can. Good luck. I hope she is ok.
- My manager's puppy had the same thing. Take her to emergency ASAP she may bleed to death. A hemorrhaging umbilical cord is very serious!
