  1. I would personally call your family doctor and ask them, just to ease your mind!
  2. To ease your mind call your doctor but both my kids bled a little bit. My doctor said as long as there is no foul smell you should be fine. If it smells really bad (there belly button) then it could be infected.
  3. no it is not normal. but if you're really concerned take her to her hospital of birth.
  4. I have 4 kids and it has happened. As long as it doesn't have pus or has a stinky odor to it, I think it will be fine..I'm sure she will be going to the doctor's soon and ask her pediatrician then. I would not be too alarmed..Congrats and GL!!
  5. At nine days I think I would call the doc if there is still bleeding. A little blood is normal, just keep putting alcohol, dab the cord and surrounding area with an alcohol dipped q-tip. The alcohol keeps it clean and helps it dry out. Make sure that the area is not being rubbed and irritated buy the diaper or clothing. Keep it exposed to air, that will also help with the healing process. I used a little neosporin with pain reliever on the cord area to avoid infection and pain for my daughter. This is what worked for us, but always ask your baby's doc before trying anything. Good luck, I am sure you little bundle will be just fine Mommy!
  6. My daughter's did the same thing. Just make sure you are cleaning it 2-3 times a day with Q-tips and rubbing alochol. As long as it's not a lot of blood, it's normal.
  7. It is normal. It happened with my 3 month old daughter. I was worried too. I called the doctor and they told me a little bit of blood is normal. If it bleeds a lot or has a lot of green slimy mucus on it, it is infected. You should then take her to the doctor. Be sure to clean the cord with alcohol several times a day. Don't be afraid to pull it up and clean the very bottom very well. Good luck
  8. This is normal. Even after the umbilical cord falls off the belly button is still healing. Just take a warm wash cloth and hold it to her belly button, do this a few times a day for about a week. If you are talking about the umbilical cord still on and bleeding, I am not sure; I would contact your doctor. Hope this helped!
  9. yes its normal but call you doctor to see if they want to check it out
