- it's def. normal to still be clotting! It's only been four days...you'll notice clotting for a few more. I'm not sure about the unmilical cord though, you should contact your dr. for that one.
- depends on how big your clots are..if they are bigger than a quarter i think you should call the on duty nurse....and as for her umbilical cord..it will bleed a small bit again if its alot of blood...call the on duty nurse...but continue to clean it..the sooner it dries out and falls off the less you have to worry about it
- Yes you should still be bleeding that's fine! It can last up to 8 weeks!!! The babies umbilical cord may bleed a little here and there as i know that my son's did! Congratulations on the birth and WOW a leap year baby!!
- Yes, and yes. Small clots are normal. If they are bigger than say, a quarter, then let the doctor know. The bleeding will usually last 3-5 weeks. My daughter's cord bled for awhile, too. In fact, it bled a little bit after it fell out, even. The doctor checked it all over, though, and assured me it was fine. She is three months old now, and it looks like your typical adorable belly button. Don't fret!
- Yes, I think the clotting can last up to a week. I just had one on the 26th and mine stopped two days ago, so it should stop soon. The only concerns they say to look for is clots bigger than a walnut or bleeding more than one of the big diaper pads in an hour. The cord shouldn't be bleeding, I dont think. None of my three ever did that and they say if you have any bleeding, oozing, pus, etc. to call the doc. The thing could be infected, but they will use some stuff to remove it if necessary. Good luck!
- Both of you need to see your doctor. The clotting may be normal and the baby bleeding from her cord may be too but it sounds serious. Be sure to keep her navel dry and above the diaper line.
- if your clots are bigger then a quarter the call your Dr. and her cord is it like dry blood? or actual drops? she should be seeing her pediatrician within 1 week so i would bring it up, if its bleeding bleeding then take her in now
- That really scared me too but, it is perfectly normal for the cord to bleed a bit. If its anything more than a few drops everytime you change her then you should probably take her to the doctor. As for the clotting... when my son was 4 days old I passed a clot that was about an inch in diameter. I was so freaked I called my doctor right away. He said it was normal to have a few here and there. If it is lots you should go see your doctor.
- Clotting is pretty normal for up to 2 or 3 weeks, just keep a close eye on them, the saying is they should be the size of a quarter or smaller otherwise call your doctor immediately. And, just keep putting rubbing alcohol on the cord it will dry up quickly and fall off. Stay calm and enjoy the only time your little one will be so tiny. Good luck and congrats!
- OH YES my doctor said it could last up to 2 weeks....luckily, i didnt bleed that much. Sometimes it could be quarter sized clots, just make sure they are getting smaller as the days go by, other than that you are fine. Yes the umbilical cord WILL bleed, its just the process of it coming off, calm down, dont freak out, I totally understand all of your concerns, remember the doctors and nurses are just a phone call away!
- I've had 4 children and I would bleed for about 2 weeks. Massage the uterus and this will help. 100% orange juice with pulp is a good source of vitamin C and bioflavnoids which is good to reduce the bleeding. Don't worry and trust your instincts.
- yes its normal you will do that for like 6 weeks-- and yes the cord can bleed its normal RELAX everything is fine,,
