  3. Lucky you, No that is NOT true she will proably take the umbilical cords of/or they will just fall of at about five to six days. And there eyes don't open untill about three weeks. DON'T touch them untill they have there eyes are open.
  4. They open their eyes usually around 10 days after birth. Some will open later, and they will vary depending on the kitten. So you have about 7 more days. I am pretty sure that kittens are deaf at birth too, but they get their hearing around the 10th day also. Call your vet about the umbilical cord thing. You may be able to just cut them off, they may bleed a little, but not too much. They might fall off, or the mother might bite them off, I dont know, my cats have always just had this happen on their own. The vet can easily tell you, with just a phone call, what you should do. Good luck! Have fun! Kittens are great!
  5. kittens open their eyes around ten days old. Mom chews the umbilical cord to get it lose from the placenta. There will still be a little stub left on. Thats normal. It will dry and fall off on its own, DON'T PULL IT OFF. Mom will care for the kittens early needs, like bathroom and grooming. When they start wandering around the box and starting to get out is when they should start using a litter box, make sure sides are low so they can get in and out easily. Start some kitten food about 3 to 4 weeks of age, but mom will nurse until 6 to 8 wks. Hope that helps.
  6. The kittens will open their eyes on day 7 to day 9 Mom will take care of umbilical cords, and no, they will not bleed. Do not freak when your new babies open their eyes, it is normal for them to be blue. They will turn green when Kittens are about 4-6 weeks old.
  7. Give them love. Lots of it.
