Umbilical cord/ belly button now?

my daughters umbilical cord was cut off by the doctor because it was just hanging by a thread literally. She said it would get gross and to keep cleaning it out because there was a growth she had to cauterize. Well her belly button keeps bleeding should i be worried about this our 6 week check up is at the end of march. Should i wait and watch her belly button or should i take her in now??

1. I'd take her in now. My youngest had to have hers tied off. Most of it fell off on it's own, yet there was a piece that didn't come out.
2. by six weeks it should have already came off............Not a fact I know all babys are different. Is it actually bleeding or is it dry blood? I put lots and lots of alcohol on my kids and my first son his came off at 5 weeks and my second at little over a week. Call the doctors office or a nurse hotline and see what they think.
3. Use your discretion. If you feel that your baby needs to be seen and you are actually worried about it then take her in. You don't need to be worring about an infection or anything like that. If you want to wait and see what happens clean it with alcohol once every 2 hrs. if you have cotton ball try taping one to her belly button area. Keep the diaper away from it that could be what is making it bleed. If you think that you want it seen by the dr then take her in today or tomarrow. If keeping it clean and dry isn't helping in 2 days I would definately take her in.
