Against Embryonic Stem Cells?

What are a bunch of arguments Against embryonic stem cells??? =)

Public Comments

  1. its playing god
  2. The argument is that stem cells are from fetuses that could have been people. This argument, as well as any other argument against stem cell research, is close minded and misinformed (stem cells can be harvested from umbilical cords and hopefully in the near future, adults). Politicians are blocking research that has huge potential to cure many chronic diseases, especially diabetes.
  3. Government funding for embryonic stem cell harvesting puts an economic incentive to the creation of new embryos for the express purpose. Creation of human life for the express purpose of using it for other than an attempt at maturation into a full human is tantamount to slavery in its worst form. Imagine outsourcing to less developed countries, and you can see the possibility of the powerful running whorehouses to sell the embryos. (I'd like to retain the book and movie rights to that one). It's a bit silly considering the restraints that could be placed on it, but then the proponents haven't suggested such restraints. Of course, those who consider life to begin at conception, including the Catholic church, have more basic objections.
