Umbilical Cord??
How long does the cord stay on the baby after birth? I heard it could be a few weeks before it dries off. If this is the case, are onesies off limits until the baby is free from the cord?

- Our baby's was about a week. And no, you are able to use onesies, as long as they are 100% cotton.
- My son wore onsies and had no problem. It will take several weeks before it falls off but as long as you clean the area as directed then you shouldn't have a problem.
- I found the easiest thing to dress them in were the little gowns. They have elastic on the bottoms and it is easier to change their diaper...especially at night
- Nope...onesies are fine for a baby with a cord. It takes anywhere from 3 days to 3 weeks. Keep it dry and wipe it with alcohol everyday. If you don't you'll end up with a deep belly button that is hard to keep clean.
- hi it deepends on how quick it heals it will fall off when ready i still have the clip that goes on the belly button from my son and he is six now and nappies shouldnt bother it.
