Cord Blood Stem Cells Information

Islet transplant/stem cells in umbilical cord blood?

I have a 7 year old son who has type 1. I found out yesterday that I am pregnant. My sons endo told me today that one of the problems with the islet transplant was that some of the recipiants bodies would reject the islet because they were from strangers. Does anyone have any good info about this? Would it be possible to use the cord blood?
