What is the cure for cancer? Is it eliminating the cancer stem cells, or immunotherapy?

- If I knew that I'd retire rich and help all of humanity in the process.
- As I work in cancer research I will answer: 1) depends on the type of cancer 2) depends on the location of cancer 3) and how aggressive it is, and how far it has progressed when it was discovered. Cancers do not have 'stem cells' Cancer is literally a cell who's replicative machinery has gone amok, causing it to continuously multiply and grow. As there are many mechanisms which regulate cellular growth (mitosis) and death (aptosis) there is no one cure for cancer. Immunotherapy boosts one immune system, but this is flawed in cancer to some extent, since the rogue cells are our own, and not some foreign body. To the body, a cancer looks like any other cell as far as the immune system is concerned. And there are blood cancers which wipe out your immune system. So to answer your question, is there any cure for cancer? Not really, we have tools to mitigate the disease, and prevent it's recurring, but nothing that completely eliminates the risk of developing it in the first place.
- First of all, cancer is not one disease, but many diseases. The best thing we can do is try to prevent it. How are you going to eliminate the cancer stem cells? If you know how, go for it.
