- well i think its wrong and no luck so far
- we are not sure. it may, but can't since stem cell research is not open yet (unethical reasons) but yes, it COULD potentially cure cancer
- yes they do
- Well, they do a lot of stem cell research, so yes, i believe it is, hun. Answer mine! http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Avg5fLpjdqGBF9yyE74n4mnsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20080224144719AADtcjw&show=7#profile-info-QsUQCpJkaa
- my husband is a doctor. it is a yes, and no question. it's rather confusing. i would reccomend searching it on google, and selecting a link with a .edu or .org
- There is the possibility. I'm not part of any projects, but I've studied enough to see the possibilities. Cancer cells are mutations of normal cells. If we can see those cells' origins, it may be possible to find out why cancer is so detrimental to the human body and how to reverse it -- and stem cells are as close to a genetic origin as we can get at this point in time.
- Yes they can help with finding cures. But at what cost. Anyway the cells are like lets say a cake in the making well they are just an idea until you give it the right ingredients like chocolate. Well the cell are just cells that you can make them into what you want them to be if you need a brain cell you implant them with other brain cells to make it into one. Just as if you need a liver cell or a lung cell they are like blank canvases that you alter to become what you want. That is why in the past they are from embryo cell that have not formed into anything yet. Easier to manipulate and mold.

- Yes, stem cells have been used and studied in the treament of cancer for many years. Presently on the of the physicians at Rush university in chicago has been flying to brazil to be able to preform the considered illegal cancer research with stem cells and has been very successful. He has places several different kinds of cancer in remission upwards of 7 years. A stem cell is a cell that can become anything we want it to be be the induction of certain chemicals. So we can manipulate these cells into what ever we want to help the patient. The stem cells used for research in the US are umbillical stem cells from the blood in the umbillical cord connecting baby to mom. These cells are saved after birth and frozen for later use. These cells are allowed since they do not require a egg and a sperm fertilization. Many feel once the egg and sperm come together this is a child while others feel it is only a few cells and not a child yet. It is a touchy subject.
- check out this research group..they are trying to find some cures......http://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/
