- I really suggest that you go to http://forums.webmagic.com I have had a type of lymphoma, though I have not had the stem cell transplant. A lot of people on that message board have though and can tell you all about it. You can either ask a new question their or do a search of previous posts. My best wishes. - I had a stem cell transplant in 1998. Just to have the transplant, I had 6 months of out-patient chemo, 3 surgeries, for IV central lines in my neck, and lymph node discection, and hundreds of lab work. I did't just "bounce back". I started at 5'9", 120 lbs., ended transplant at 89 lbs. The weakness stays with you for 2 to 3 years. Your thoughts aren't clear for at least 2 years. It is a long journey, and I suggest that you join a support group, and get some of the groups phone numbers, as you will be too weak to attend many of them. May God bless you.
